B.PALMER RIEDEL
 

B. PALMER RIEDEL was born and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts. In 1963, he graduated from Mt. Hermon School and in 1967, cum laude with a B.A. from Syracuse University, Maxwell School of Citizenship. In 1970, he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. Riedel began his legal career as House Counsel for Travelers Insurance in San Francisco and then opened and managed Home Insurance Company's House Counsel in San Francisco. In 1976, he became litigation partner in the firm of Golden, Stefan, Ellenberg, and Riedel in Oakland and in 1986, opened his own firm in Walnut Creek. In 1998, the Law Offices of B. Palmer Riedel expanded to Southern California with a second office in Palm Desert.

Mr. Riedel has received a variety of community service appointments:

Mr. Riedel has directed his support to other community service needs:
- Testified in 1972 before the United States Senate Subcommittee on National Parks in Washington, D.C. in support of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area
- Rotarian of the Year, Rotary Club of Walnut Creek Sunrise, 1991
- Active member, Rotary Club of LaQuinta

Mr. Riedel has been appointed Judge Pro Tem, Contra Costa County Superior Court and is a Court-appointed Arbitrator in both Alameda and Contra Costa County Superior Courts. He is also a member of the California State Bar Association, the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and the Desert Bar Association.

ALEXANDER PHAM
 

Mr. Pham was a child of first generation immigrants and was raised in Lake Forest, a small city in Orange County, California. In 1998 he received his Bachelor of Science degree graduating Summa Cum Laude from California State Polytechnic University with a major in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. In 2001, Mr. Pham attended the University of California Hastings College of the Law where he was ranked in the top 11th percentile of his class. While attending Hastings he won second place in moot court and participated in the immigration clinic. In 2002, Mr. Pham transferred to the University of Southern California (USC) Law School to be closer to his family. While at USC Law School he interned as a Certified Law Clerk with the Los Angeles District Attorneys’ Office where he conducted preliminary hearings. Before joining the Law Offices of B. Palmer Riedel in 2005, Mr. Pham was a federal inspector with the United States Department of Agriculture stationed at the Los Angeles International Airport under the division of the Animal Plant Health Inspection Services where he obtained valuable experience in federal laws and regulations. Mr. Pham is a member of the California Bar Association and has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation in many different areas of the law including contracts, business, real estate, personal injuries, torts, malpractice, probate, bankruptcy, family law, governmental liability, intellectual property, employment law, labor law, and civil appeals.

MAE ADKINS
 

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Adkins graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Art. Ms. Adkins received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2003, graduating cum laude and in the top ten percent. While attending Hastings, Ms. Adkins participated in the Civil Justice Clinic, served as a teaching assistant for a moot court class, and was a judicial extern to the Honorable Susan Illston at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Before joining the Law Offices of B. Palmer Riedel-WC, Inc., Ms. Adkins volunteered for the San Francisco Public Defender. She joined the Law Offices of B. Palmer Riedel-WC, Inc., as an associate in 2003, where she continues to develop her practice in the area of general litigation and family law.

Ms. Adkins also mediates disputes of all types. She completed the certified 40-hour mediator training in accordance with the California Dispute Resolution Programs Act in March 2009, and is an active volunteer with Community Boards - the San Francisco Center for Conflict Resolution, and the Center for Human Development – Conflict Resolution Program, where she mediates both in the community and through the courts.

SETH WIENER
 

Seth W. Wiener is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer. He has handled and successfully resolved a myriad of federal and state litigations and alternative dispute resolution matters, including antitrust, bankruptcy, contract, construction, employment, family law, fraud, insurance, intellectual property, personal injury, product liability, real property, tort, and unfair competition claims.

Prior to joining The Law Offices of B. Palmer Riedel as Counsel in 2012, Mr. Wiener worked as a commercial litigator at several prominent Bay Area law firms, including, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. and LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP. Representative matters that he handled at those firms include the following reported decisions: Boghos v. Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London, 36 Cal. 4th 495, 30 Cal. Rptr. 3d 787, 115 P.3d 68 (Cal. Sup. Ct. 2005) (insurance companies entitled to compel arbitration of claims arising under a disability policy); State of Nevada v. Pioneer Companies, Inc., 245 F. Supp. 1120 (D. Nev. 2003) (granting motion to dismiss an interpleader action brought by the State of Nevada); Aquila, Inc. v. Superior Court, 148 Cal. App. 4th 556, 55 Cal. Rptr. 3d 803 (Cal. Ct. App. 2007) (granting motion to quash service for lack of personal jurisdiction). In the past two years, Mr. Wiener has successfully tried more than ten cases to verdict.

Mr. Wiener received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with First Class Honors from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in May 1996. Mr. Wiener was awarded his Juris Doctorate by the Columbia University School of Law in New York City, in May 1999. Mr. Wiener was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar at Columbia University School of Law, and served as a Writing & Research Editor on the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems.

Mr. Wiener was admitted to the California State Bar on December 6, 1999, and is admitted to all California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California.
